ABOUT THE SERIES

The Cactus Jack Ranch Bronc Saddle Series is built to reward consistency, performance, and toughness across multiple events. Riders earn points throughout the series by entering, competing, and placing at each event.

At the conclusion of the series, the rider with the highest total points will be crowned Series Champion and awarded a custom saddle.

POINT SYSTEM

ENTRY & PARTICIPATION

  • Online Entry Submitted — 10 Points
  • Selected & Competes — 5 Points

EVENT PLACINGS

  • 1st Place — 100 Points
  • 2nd Place — 80 Points
  • 3rd Place — 60 Points
  • 4th Place — 40 Points
  • 5th Place — 30 Points
  • 6th Place — 20 Points

 

PLACING TIES

In the event of a tie, all tied riders will receive full points for that placing.
Subsequent placings will move forward accordingly.

RANCH BRONC RIDING RULES

  1. Rider must stay on the horse for 8 seconds to receive a score.
  2. Rider may use:
    • A night latch
    • A rope or strap attached to the saddle
    • Or ride one-handed with no hold
  3. Rider will be disqualified if he loses a stirrup during the ride.
  4. Rider may reach and take hold of a night latch, rope, or strap at any time during the ride.
  5. Rider will be disqualified if both hands become free at any time while using a night latch, rope, or strap.
  6. Rider may not switch riding hands at any time during the ride.
  7. Rides will be scored on a 100-point system, based on rider performance and horse performance.
  8. Judges’ decisions are final.

SERIES CHAMPION

The rider with the highest total points at the end of the series will be crowned Series Champion.

The Series Champion will receive a custom J. Petri Saddle.

SERIES TIEBREAKER

If two or more riders are tied in total points at the conclusion of the series:

  1. The rider with the highest marked ride score in the final event will be declared the champion.
  2. If still tied, the rider with the higher placing in the final event will be declared the champion.
  3. If still tied, the rider with the highest marked ride score from any previous event in the series will be declared the champion.

All previous event scores for tied riders will be reviewed to determine the highest score.
